1. If you travel to Kyoto by Shinkansen (bullet train), change to the JR overhead line at Kyoto Station. You can get on the JR using the same ticket you used for the Shinkansen, for no extra cost. So hold onto your ticket.
2. Take any train at platforms 31 or 33, and get off at the third stop, "Enmachi" Station.
3. From the exit of "Enmachi Station", turn right, and cross at the first traffic lights, as per the map below.
4. You will see the "Nishinokyo-Enmachi" bus stop. Get on a city bus, numbered 205 or 204 or 15, and get off at the "Kinugasa-koumae" bus stop.

5. The bus fare is 220 yen, which you put in the
box by the driver as you enter the bus. Bus-stops are announced and also displayed at the front of the bus. Get off the bus at "Kinugasa koumae" bus stop, then walk about three minutes, in the same direction of the bus. After passing a Japanese restaurant called Sato (white sign with red writing), turn left. Directly opposite the restaurant and the turning for the hotel is the large Hirano shrine – you cannot miss it! The hotel is literally 30 seconds down the street, on the right.

1. If you travel to Kyoto by any train, including Shinkansen, you can choose to use the subway and city bus.                                                                   2. Get on the Karasuma subway Line at Kyoto Station and get off at "Marutamachi" station.
2. Get on the city bus number 204 at "Karasuma- Marutamachi" bus stop. See map below.
3. Get off at "Kinugasa-Koumae" bus stop.
4. Walk about three minutes, in the same direction of the bus. After passing a Japanese restaurant called Sato (white sign with red writing), turn left.

1. There is a bus station on the north side of the station. Take either bus  numbered 50 or 205, which both leave from stand "B". (50=B2, 205=B3) See map below.
